Home on the Range
A beautiful piece of Americana, this arrangement draws on compositional influences as far-reaching as Aaron Copland, Percy Grainger and Charles Ives. After a sweet presentation of the melody in a solo clarinet, and subsequent clarinet choir it is given to the brass choir. The melody is then developed in solo flute and solo trumpet. After a melodic section with a none-too-subtle nod to the aforementioned Ives, the piece ends with a broad, romantic restatement and Grainger-esque final chord.
