You can learn techniques to present yourself more effectively in an interview. Most people can dramatically improve their interviewing skills in a short time. My experience with thousands of job seekers is that just a few hours of learning and practice is often enough to make a big difference. You will learn more than just how to interview. Although this book emphasizes interview skills, it also covers how to get interviews in the first place, follow up after an interview, and negotiate your salary. You can find a good fit without being phony. Unlike some interviewing experts, I believe that you should tell the truth in an interview. I don't believe it is either necessary or good to manipulate a prospective employer into hiring you based on phony interviewing skills. I encourage you to identify the skills you have and then clearly define where and how you want to use them.
