Steve Pippin and I wrote I'm Holdin On one night. We were just fishing around with some ideas and this one came up. I like the opposite thing...holdin' on and lettin go. Kinda cool. I love plays on words. Eg: Is It Cold In Here, Or Is It Just You. It's one of my favorite songs. I never have played it anywhere except when I did this little guitar/vocal demo. I love the sound of the acoustic on it. I used a couple of Shure SM81's in an X/Y configuration on the guitar. I probably couldn't even play it again. Sometimes you get these little inspirations and you play a chord or a run on the guitar and it's very hard to duplicate. These kind of demos are what the pickers hear sometimes when you're cutting an album. They make up all the other stuff! Amazing. They just listen to it a couple of times, scribble on their charts and go in and play it. I've been doing this for quite a few years and I still find it hard to believe that someone is skilled enough to do that!
